“I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” The Chapel has been particularly beautiful at sunset lately during this snowy time of year. Take a look!
Happy snow day from our snow-covered campus! Christ the King Chapel looked especially beautiful after the recent snowfall.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” This beautiful star was installed on Christ the King Chapel and will illuminate each night during the Christmas season, reminding people of the Christmas Star.
Another new addition came to our new Christ the King Chapel in December of 2021: weathervanes for the tops of the steeples! Both are marked with the college's seal, further beautifying the exterior of the Chapel.
Adorning the chapel
The highest beauty of the new Christ the King Chapel will be the Eucharistic Presence of our Lord and His people gathered there to worship. Through the Sacred Art Project, we seek to glorify the kingship of Christ by adorning His dwelling place with sacred art that reflects His majesty.
ABOUT the Chapel
Stained glass windows
Foot tall gothic tower
The new Christ the King Chapel will provide much needed space for our growing student body. Constructed at the highest point of our campus it will serve as our the spiritual, intellectual, and social heart of our academic community.
This is the most ambitious building project we have ever undertaken. The new bell tower and spires will rise out of the valley along the shores of the Shenandoah River on our campus. The chapel will be visible for miles and serve as the outward expression of our role as the standard for fidelity and authentic liberal arts education with Christ at the center of all we do.
